Mark began his music career as a bass player. A side step into an agency/promotion company, Worldwide Talent, in 1984 saw him work with releases from Madonna, Eric B. & Rakim, Bros and Michael Jackson, before taking his expertise to Virgin Records in 1986, working with Soul II Soul and Neneh Cherry, and then to SBK Records UK in 1988, where he oversaw the label's establishment in the UK and releases by Wilson Phillips and Vanilla Ice.
1989 saw Mark move to CBS Records (Sony Music) as Marketing Director/General Manager to set up imprint label S2, with Muff Winwood and Lincoln Elais, directing the careers of Jamiroquai, Des'Ree and Reef. Along with his strong skills in artist development, Mark's creative skills came through in his additional overseeing all of Sony UK's Video department and in particular, the international award winning video for Jamiroquai's 'Virtual Insanity'.
2000 saw Mark move to become Managing Director of Independiente Records UK, responsible for the development of the label and artists Travis, Gomez and Paul Weller.
Mark has been an active board member of BPI, AIM and OCC (UK official Charts Company) deciding rules and policy, and has given evidence as an expert witness at the UK Government Select Committee on Culture, Media and Sport, House of Commons session 2005-6 on new media and the creative industries. Mark relocated to Australia in 2006 with his family after more than 25 years of working in the UK entertainment industry. Identifying the need in today's talent industry for serious development of talent as brands, in November 2006, Mark founded Forum 5 with FremantleMedia.
