This is the sound of a band full of life. It’s the erratic, dark hours of an unscripted night out, the reflective and sombre time of a dawn walk home. It’s the sound of The Salvagers, electrifying electronic-fused gritty rock & roll that strikes a chord that’s universal. With a solid repertoire of tunes fusing hook-laden dark rock & roll with infectious grooves and inventive electronics and energetic, gritty punk-fuelled live shows boosting the band’s reputation, word spread fast.

In 2008, The Salvagers linked up with Forum 5 and set to work on a longplayer. For up to four nights a week over three months the Salvagers pieced together the set they’d take into the studio to record in just five days with UK producer Lee Groves (Goldfrapp, Depeche Mode) at Electric Avenue Studios in Sydney.

With mixing in the UK by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro), the debut captures the dirty, sweaty, energetic sound of the Salvagers live, tempered with the kind of intricate, focused and enduring arrangements that captures the mood of each track. And above all else, the set is an honest, unguarded representation of the four great friends behind it.
