Kimbra is currently working on some fantastic new material for her debut album, slated for release sometime next year. Stay tuned.

Close your eyes and listen. You'll hear smoky soul, flights of dazzling invention and intricate layers of deeply felt emotion. With a voice that belies her age; twenty year old Kimbra already enchants her audience, having been inspired by jazz greats such as Nina Simone, while also bringing a contemporary edge more akin to Bjork and Camille.
On her debut single Settle Down, Kimbra paired up with producers Francois Tetaz (Architecture in Helsinki, Gotye) and Australian Urban export M-Phazes (Amerie, Pharoahe Monch). Settle Down, "has got that immediate quirk to it" says Kimbra... "A rhythmic collage of handclaps, cheeky horn parping, and a ballooning bassline married to an escapist lyrics about domesticity" - "I wanna raise a child/ Won't you raise a child with me? / Raise a child / We'll call her Nebraska / Nebraska Jones / She'll have your nose..." Make no mistake - Kimbra is picking up steam even as she arrives. It's going to be a wonderful trip.
Kimbras exhilarating neo-soul/jazz pop invokes both past and modern soul luminaries including Nina Simone, Amy Winehouse, and Jamie Lidell. With talented four-piece band behind here, Kimbra was allowed the freedom to deliver the full force of her powerful and alluring vocals, which proliferated in a soulful gusto and fervent vibrancy.
'Settle Down lit up the stage aswell as the dance floor with its funk grooves and irresistible fusion of soul, hip hop and jazz-pop, while Kimbra's incredibly versatile vocals shift from beat-box rythmic sequences to gloriously ethereal melodies proliferated in a soulful gusto and fervent vibrancy.'
