Karen Martini has only ever wanted to cook, and she has been doing so for as long as she can remember, awarded countless 'hats' Karen is on of the most respected chefs in Australia today.

Her repertoire ranges from Mediterranean to Middle Eastern dishes, by way of North Africa (her great grandfather's family moved to Tunisia from Nice and Tuscany).

Mother, Chef, Restaurateur, Writer and TV Presenter, there isn't much that Karen can't or hasn't turned her hand too!

Currently the Executive Chef and part owner of two very different but equally successful restaurants, The Melbourne Wine Room in St Kilda, and Mr Wolf's, both restaurants are known for their great food, and their great atmosphere.

Karen's charismatic, articulate and warm personality has not gone unnoticed by Australia's Food Media.

In August 2004, she became Food Editor of Sunday Life, the Sun-Herald and Sunday Age's magazine published weekly in Sydney and Melbourne.

In 2005 Karen was the resident chef on LifeStyle Cafe, a 13-part series on the LifeStyle Channel and in 2006 she began presenting recipes to over 1 million viewers a week on Australia's Longest running LifeStyle Show, Channel 7's Better Homes & Gardens.

In June 2006 Karen released her first cookbook - Where The Heart Is, an inspiring collection of recipes packed with over 140 simple ways to enjoy creating, combining and consuming fresh, flavoursome food. This book was followed up with Cooking At Home – inspired in part by the birth of Karen's first daughter, true to it's title the book is filled with simple, beautiful recipes that can easily be achieved at home.

In 2009 Karen is in her fourth season with Better Homes and Gardens, continues as Food Editor for Sunday Life and is writing her third book with Penguin

Karen lives, works and plays in Melbourne with her partner Michael and two daughters Amber and Stella.
